It has been an interesting shift, and has opened my eyes to the possibilities of actually getting paid for doing what I love to do most: create things. Suddenly, I am getting full-time wages for "playing around" in Photoshop or Microsoft Word, things I would be doing in my free time anyway. And I have awakened to the concepts of "commissions" and "freelancing." So, if you would like a bit of authentic, exclusive StormDrake art, this is the place to find out what is required to do so. I'm not sure who would be willing to pay for my art, and I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for someone to do so… but if you have a few dollars to spare on a rising artist, consider casting them in my direction. Price Background = $10.00 Characters = $10.00 for one character, $5.00 for each additional character Conjoinments = $10.00 for two conjoined characters, $5.00 for each additional conjoined character Prints = $5.00 for one copy, $2.50 for each additional copy (plus above costs) Sequences = Priced as above; subsequent images are at half (50%) regular price. No additional charge for background if consistent for all images. Prints are $5.00 + $2.50 for each additional (same) image. All prices include basic USPS shipping. Additional shipping options are available at an additional cost. So an image with one character and no background will cost $10.00. An image with one character and a background will cost $20.00. Two characters with a background, plus one print, will cost $30.00. A five-part sequence involving one character and one (unchanging) background will cost $40.00. Et cetera. Back to top What You Get All commissions will include a CD with the following: One (1) high-resolution Adobe Photoshop (.psd) file of each commissioned image, with one layer for each character and one layer for the background One (1) high-resolution JPEG (.jpg) file of each commissioned image One (1) high-resolution ping (.png) file of each commissioned image One (1) web-resolution JPEG (.jpg) file of each commissioned image One (1) web-resolution ping (.png) file of each commissioned image Additional image formats or sizes may be requested at no additional cost. Multiple simultaneous commissions will be included on one disc, unless otherwise requested. All images are full-color digital creations; I usually don't work in real media, so I can't accept commissions for real media works. All prints are high-resolution (600 dpi image printed at 1200 dpi) full-color images, and printed on thick-stock glossy or matte photo paper. Additional paper stocks are available at the buyer's request. Image sizes are usually eight inches from top to bottom, with a variable width, though the exact size will vary according to image. Prints may be signed at no additional cost, upon request. All commissions will be mailed in padded envelopes by USPS at regular rates. Additional shipping options are available, at an additional cost. All prints will be mailed flat. And all commissions will include a signed letter insuring the authenticity of the commission, and outlining the rules regarding copyright and distribution of the commissioned image. Back to top Rules I will supply low-resolution sketches through e-mail if requested, and will work with the purchaser to insure that he or she gets what he or she wants. Within reason, of course; be fair with me and I will be fair with you. Regarding Content: No frontal nudity. Period. No depiction of illegal items or activities. Period. No depiction of any previously copyrighted or trademarked material, and no fan art, unless requested by the owner of said copyright. Period. Suggestive images or poses are allowed, within reason. Language is allowed, within reason. Violence or gore is allowed, within reason. Text is allowed (English only, unless provided by the buyer). Transformation is not required; any subject matter may be requested, within reason. Regarding Ownership: I (the artist) retain the right to keep an archival copy (electronic and/or print) of all commissions. I will neither post nor distribute any commissioned images online without the consent of the buyer. The buyer retains the right to distribute or post online his or her commissioned image, on the condition that I am given full and proper credit for the creation of the image. The buyer may not change, alter, or otherwise modify any commissioned art, without the prior consent of the artist (me). Regarding Payment: Acceptable forms of payment include checks, money orders, or well-concealed cash. Money orders are preferred. I do not accept responsibility for lost or redirected mail. Further information, such as who to make a check or money order out to, or what address to send it to, will be discussed by e-mail. I may begin to work on a commission before receiving payment, but no commission will be sent out until payment is received and any check clears. Period. DHTML, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets are all implemented, but should not be required for proper navigation. Nonetheless, they are encouraged.
