Though love did never pierce my tender heart
Nor bind my dreams in sweet morphean art
It raped my life and tore my world apart
My maiden skin was pure and colored fair
With eyes of diamonds blue and golden hair
But beauty does draw ugliness to stare
By potion foul wrought of magic black
By jealous rage of island sorceress wrack
By ocean water pooled in coral crack
Unto my belly slim was I immersed
My legs the spell did steal and change to worst
Now canine heads for blood eternal thirst
The melded forms of wolves below my waist
With serpents long the air with tongues did taste
Forever beast and virgin maid embraced
For life of simple happiness was lost
The sea of fate my body's ship had tossed
And woman's beauty human form did cost
And now because of unrequited love
Because of justice bade by gods above
Am I adorned with snake and wolfish glove
With melancholy boundless do I lie
My fury spent on ships that oft go by
For what I lost I'll watch the sailors die
The hex did turn me monster in and out
Though still my human soul is stiff and stout
Consumed by urge to spread my pain about
By love infernal witch did cast my lot
For love of he for whom my heart beat not
Who sorceress scorned, and blood for me burned hot
Oh do not loathe me for my beauty torn
Or damn for murders dealt by monster born
For I am cursed by love, and thus I mourn
