But nonetheless, I have nothing but the greatest respect for other artists. I am my own worst critic (as is everyone else), and often find so much more to like in the work of most other artists than my own creations. Whether it is an idea I wish I had thought of, an emotion inherent in the work that I have tried to capture in my own art without ever succeeding, or simply a level of skill I cannot hope to approach, there is much to love in the artistic endeavors of others. And on several occasions, I have been blessed with original art drawn for me by these talented artists, either as an illustration of a character for the Saga of Blood, or as another's interpretation of the artist known as StormDrake, or as some sort of gift inspired by my own work, in general or in response to a specific drawing or piece of fiction. Back to top Guest Art Cyrib By Darker Cyrib Thorngrowth was an elven guard, until an encounter with a monstrous wraith left her dying in an unfamiliar part of the forest. She attempted to heal herself… but things did not quite go as planned… This image accompanies a story, which may be found in the Guest Writings section of the Menagerie. Darker By Darker Darker is the single most prolific contributor to the Saga of Blood setting, myself included. He is a writer and an artist, shown here in a self-portrait. Rebecca's Transformation By Darker Rebecca was a werewolf fanatic, but she never expected to become that which she loved. And the question remains... what caused this sudden metamorphosis? Tifa Chocobo By the Albino (ff71224) This is an alternate take on Tifa from Final Fantasy 7 transforming into a chocobo, inspired by my own similar-themed image in the TFan Art section. This piece accompanies a story, also written by the Albino, which can be found in the Guest Writings area. Washer Transformation By Darker There are a great many things that a person can be transformed into - animals, plants, inanimate objects, or just about anything else the human mind can imagine. Unfortunately, some transformees are noticeably better off than others… and some are noticeably worse. Back to top Interpretations of StormDrake The internet persona that I have chosen for myself has become fairly clear in my mind: StormDrake, an anthropomorphic drake with midnight blue skin and yellow eyes, a fighter and a bard. But I am always interested in how others perceive me, or in interpretations of yours truly by other artists. StormDrake: In Fury By Kaiser 9Iron Patience is a virtue which I work hard to exhibit. But I am only mortal, and inevitably I will lose my temper. And when that happens, I have been known to react with the ire of a tempest gone mad, usually to my later regret. I don't get angry often, but when I do… StormDrake: Sitting By Naga Naga has long been a favorite artist of mine, and to have a bit of exclusive Naga art on this site brings me joy. Thank you! This is another excellent depiction of yours truly, by another excellent artist. Back to top The Saga of Blood Initially, the primary reason for the creation of the Saga of Blood setting was to draw the attentions of other writers and artists, in the hopes that they might add their own chapters and characters to the concept. Nowadays, I have matured a bit in my opinion of shared character settings, but I still encourage anyone and everyone who can draw to contribute to the Saga of Blood.
