Anthropomorphic Art
"What a piece of work is man. How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty. In form, in moving, how express and admirable. In action, how like an angel, in apprehension, how like a god. The beauty of the world, the paragon of animals."

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but soon after going online for the first time (back in the mid-1990's) I discovered anthropomorphic and zoomorphic artwork. I would spend hours surfing the likes of Yerf or Yiffco or the VCL. Eventually, my explorations took me to Ian William's transformation art site, and subsequently the whole "TF Fandom." But as far as these things go, it all began with anthropomorphic (I dislike the term "furry") art.

From cartoon characters to alternate dimensions to Zero, the web comic I did for almost a year, those characters who combine features of humans and animals may be found in this area. Not transformation-related, perhaps, but tangentially related by my own experiences.

Nothing new.

Farrah, Hannah, and Sarah
Farrah, Hannah, and Sarah
Anthropomorphic chimaeras are remarkably rare, no matter what circle you are a part of. But as far as these three girls are concerned, that just makes them all the more special. Farrah, the lion, is a star football player (soccer in the United States). Hannah, the goat, is something of a poet. And Sarah the snake has a strong interest in politics. The three aren't sure how they will be able to combine their interests into one profession, if such a thing is even possible, but they hope to have that detail figured out by the time they finish college.

Fox: Reading
Fox: Reading
Hey… even anthropomorphic foxes have to study for their finals. This was more an experiment in perspective than anything else, but in my opinion turned out quite nicely.

Renee
Renee
Renee is a character from Zero: the Online Anthropomorphic Counter-Culture Comic Strip, a weekly (and then twice-weekly) comic I used to draw and publish on the Internet. The comic is no more, but the characters live on. Renee is a punk, a fun-loving falcon whose greatest concerns in life are hanging out with her friends and finally seeing the Vandals live in concert (she's been trying for years).

Ryan
Ryan
Ryan is a long-eared rabbit, also from Zero: the Online Anthropomorphic Counter-Culture Comic Strip. He is a slacker, not because he is lazy (although that certainly helps), but because he has an overdeveloped sense of patience and long-term thinking. He is actually quite smart, though he seldom flaunts it, and rarely has anything better to do than hang out with Kyle, Renee, Simon and Tara.

StormDrake: The Student
StormDrake: The Student
This is actually the first image I ever inked in Photoshop, and I am still amazed how well it came out. This is also a photo of my Sophomore-year dorm room; the date stamp is accurate. It is yours truly, hard at work at something, most likely something relatively unimportant.

Tara
Tara
Tara is yet another character created for my once-upon-a-time web comic, Zero. Granted, she only appeared near the end of my nigh-year-long run, but I had great plans for her. Perhaps, one day, those plans will find fruition in one form or another. For the time being, however, Tara is an aspiring artist who is romantically involved with Kyle the fox, a fact which continues to surprise the both of them.
